2020 Jeep Cherokee vs Nissan Rogue

Drivers like you around Wilsonville, Woodburn, and Portland who want a high-powered SUV tend to look toward models like the 2020 Jeep Cherokee and Nissan Rogue. While both would be a great fit, we were curious to find out which one brought more of what local drivers need.

To find out, the team at Wilsonville CDJR compared the 2020 Jeep Cherokee vs. Nissan Rogue.

Jeep Cherokee vs Nissan Rogue Towing Capacity

As local drivers ourselves, we know how fun it is to take a boat out on the water or bring a camper into the woods.

If these are some of your favorite weekend activities, then you may prefer the Jeep Cherokee, which has a maximum towing capacity of 4,500 pounds. It does this with its available 3.6L Pentastar® V6 engine. The Nissan Rogue, on the other hand, can only tow up to 1,102 pounds with its standard 2.5L 4-cylinder engine.

Still, when it’s time to take on those snowy wintertime commutes, drivers will like that both SUVs have an available 4-wheel drive (4WD) or all-wheel drive (AWD) system that automatically redistributes torque between all four wheels to help maintain traction and control.

Infotainment Technology

When you climb inside the cabin of either the 2020 Jeep Cherokee or 2020 Nissan Rogue, you’ll find a standard 7-inch touchscreen display in the center stack. This is compatible with Android Auto™ and Apple CarPlay®.

These features fully integrate your smartphone with your vehicle by allowing you to access optimized apps through the car’s touchscreen display. Apps you can access include:

  • Navigation
  • Phone contacts
  • Internet radio streaming
  • Audiobooks

Plus, they’re compatible with wireless Bluetooth® technology, so you can easily take hands-free phone calls while on the go or stream music directly from your device.

If you prefer to equip your vehicle with an integrated navigation system, both new SUVs offer this option as an upgrade. For the Nissan Rogue, it comes with the 7-inch touchscreen.

With the Jeep Cherokee, this upgrade also comes with a larger, 8.4-inch touchscreen. The larger screen lets Cherokee drivers see their GPS more clearly than Rogue drivers may be able to.

Jeep Cherokee Driving Features

Driver-Assistance Features

Wherever you’re going in your Jeep Cherokee or Nissan Rogue, you can count on them both to help you reach your destination with confidence. They do this by offering a long list of available driver-assisting technologies, including:

  • Rear backup camera
  • Automatic rear stop
  • Lane keeping system

They also have features that can help improve visibility. For example, they each have an available blind spot monitoring system that alerts you to vehicles in your side blind post.

An available forward collision mitigation system also lets you know if a potential collision is up ahead and can even hit the brakes for you to automatically bring you to a stop.

To improve visibility during inclement weather, the Jeep Cherokee offers rain-sensing windshield wipers. These automatically turn on and adjust their speed based on the rate of precipitation on the windshield.

Unfortunately, the Nissan Rogue doesn’t offer a comparable feature, so drivers may have to take their attention away from driving to adjust their windshield wipers manually.
